How Plant Magic Platinum Works:
It’s well established that phosphorus and potassium are the two most important macronutrients for the flowering stages. But these nutrients are made exponentially more effective when there is an adequate source of complimentary nutrients. The Team at Plant Magic have created Platinum to be one of the most comprehensive boosters on the market supplying plants with everything they need for intense growth during the later flowering stages.
The powerful biostimulants found in Plant Magic Platinum work to increase something called cation exchange capacity. A cation is an ion (an electrically charged atom) with fewer electrons than protons, thus creating a positive charge. Cation exchange capacity is used to measure the fertility levels of soil, acting as an indicator of the medium’s ability to hold onto essential nutrients – the better the exchange of cations, the more available nutrients are to the plant. These biostimulants also act to enhance root structure, while working to break plant food down into forms that are more useable.
Amino Acids are organic compounds that act as the building blocks from which all life is created. The combination of amino acids used in Plant Magic Platinum has been developed after years of side-by-side testing, these amino acids are used to form proteins that nourish every cell in the plant’s structure.
Sulphur is included in the formula for its ability to greatly enhance the uptake of phosphorus and for its role in the process of photosynthesis. When plants photosynthesize, they take co2 from the surrounding atmosphere and use energy gathered by leaves (working like solar panels) to split the co2 down into carbon (which is used to manufacture plant sugars) and oxygen (which is released by the plant). Sulphur assists in the production of chlorophyll, the pigment that gives plants their green colour. Chlorophyll works to absorb light energy, playing a crucial role in photosysnthesis. By ensuring that your plants have adequate access to sulphur, you’ll help to ensure that they make the best use of the energy generated by your lighting system.
Using Plant Magic Platinum:
Hydro/Coco
Add Plant Magic Platinum to your nutrient regimen from the fourth week of the flowering cycle. Plant Magic recommend using Platinum at a rate of 0.4ml per litre of nutrient solution to begin with. Increase the dosages gradually so that during the fifth week you are using 0.5ml per litre, in the sixth week 0.5ml per litre and in the seventh week 0.7ml per litre. The final week can then be used to flush out any excess nutrients.
Soil
The same principles can be followed when growing in soil, but with slightly reduced dosages. Start at 0.3ml during the fourth week, move up to 0.4ml during the fifth week, to 0.5ml during the sixth week and to 0.6ml during the seventh week, leaving the final week free to flush.
As with all nutrients, boosters and additives, never mix them together in their concentrated form (i.e. straight out of the bottle). Always add each nutrient, booster or additive to your reservoir or feed water in turn, giving the solution a good stir to mix it in before adding the next one.
